Consider adoption of an ordinance authorizing the City Manager to execute Change Order# 2 to the contract between the City of Denton and Jagoe-Public Company for the Eagle Drive Reconstruction project which was originally approved by Council on April 26, 2016, in the amount of $2,089,550.42 with Change Order# 1 in the negative amount of $94,886.25 approved by Council on July 19, 2016; providing for the expenditure of funds therefor; and providing an effective date (Bid 6057-Change Order# 2 in the negative amount of $143,020.58 for a total contract award aggregating to $1,851,223.59).

CHANGE ORDER INFORMATION
On April 26, 2016, Council awarded the Eagle Drive Reconstruction contract to Jagoe-Public Company in the amount of $2,089,550.42. This project is a street improvement project that consists of the reconstruction of Eagle Drive from North Texas Boulevard west to Carroll Boulevard. The reconstruction took place in two phases. Phase I was from North Texas Boulevard to Welch Street. Phase II was from Welch Street to Carroll Boulevard. Change Order# 1 was approved by Council on July 19, 2016 for the use of cement stabilization in-lieu of flexbase for the reconstruction of Eagle Drive from Carroll Boulevard to North Texas Boulevard. This resulted in a negative change order in the amount of ($94,886.25). Change Order# 2 is for a reduction in the final quantity of aggregate used for the project resulting in a negative change order in the amount of ($143,020.58). In addition, Change Order 2 identified a price discrepancy on Line 69 of the pricing sheet (the unit price was corrected from $27.50 to $7.50) which resulted in a $420 reduction to the contract total. As a result, the contract total was revised to $2,089,130.42. Since these change orders are negative amounts, this will lower the overall cost for the project to $1,851,223.59. ...
