McKinney on October 20, 2016; and providing an effective date.

BACKGROUND
The Denton County Veterans Coalition's Stand Down is organized by the Denton County Veterans Coalition and community volunteers. The Stand Down will provide an opportunity for homeless and low income veterans to receive services and supplies. Free services to be provided include: food, clothing, personal hygiene kits, haircuts, legal services, faith-based services, housing and employment information. Other non-profit and local/state agencies plan to provide information to veterans who may benefit from their services. The in-kind services provided to the Denton County Veterans Coalition include the use of the Civic Center facility.

The actual cost to support the 2015 Denton County Veterans Coalition's Stand Down event was $3,705. The difference of $205 was paid by the event organizers (Exhibit 2).

To support this event at the current level, the 2016 cost will be approximately $3,500. The Denton County Veterans Coalition's Stand Down expects to have several vendors and estimates 100 people will attend the Stand Down event.

RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends supporting the in-kind request up to $3,500.

PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW
On September 15, 2015, City Council authorized an amount not to exceed $3,500 under Ordinance 2015-276.

FISCAL INFORMATION
