Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton authorizing an agreement between the City of Denton, Texas and the Denton Black Chamber of Commerce; authorizing the expenditure of funds; and providing for an effective date. ($1900)

BACKGROUND

This Agreement allows for the total expenditure of $1900 from Council Contingency Funds. (Council Member Keely Briggs $200; Council Member Dalton Gregory $250; Council Member Joey Hawkins $200; Council Member Kevin Roden $750; and Mayor Chris Watts $500)

Key provisions of the Agreement include:

* Funds shall be used by the Denton Black Chamber of Commerce for expenditures for the 2016 Denton Blues Festival.

* In addition to other reporting requirements, documentation in the form of cancelled checks and/or corresponding receipts specifically detailing expenditure of funds for the purpose provided is required for reimbursement from these designated funds.

FISCAL INFORMATION

Funding for the Agreement will come from Council Contingency Funds.
