SUBJECT

Title

Receive a report, hold a discussion, and give staff direction on potential changes to the scope of the City Council Employee Leave Ad Hoc Committee.

Body

BACKGROUND

On March 7, 2017, the Council created an ad hoc City Council committee (“Committee”) to “review policies related to employee sick leave and vacation benefits and to advise the City Council with regard to these matters” through the adoption of resolution #2017-007

The Committee met on March 27, 2017, to begin reviewing vacation and sick benefits. Councilmember Wazny was nominated to be the Chair of the Committee. During that meeting, the Committee discussed the need and benefit of expanding the role of the committee to review more than just sick and vacation benefits. This item is being placed on the agenda for Council to provide direction on whether they want to expand the scope of this Committee.
