BACKGROUND
The Denton Municipal Electric (DME) Capital Improvement Plan includes a project to reconstruct its electric transmission system. Its current capacity is inadequate for expected future load. The need for a substation in the vicinity of the above described area (EX 1), in the City of Denton, Texas, has been identified and shared with closely impacted landowner representatives.

DME has had on open house and meetings to discuss the siting of the proposed substation and transmission routes with the landowner representatives of the potential site area and has received feedback from them.

OPTIONS
1. Recommend that the City Council approve one of the options presented.
2. Do not recommend approval of a site option and direct that other actions be taken.
3. Table the discussion.
4. Postpone action for another meeting.

PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (Council, Boards, Commissions)
Options were presented in closed session to the Public Utilities Board on March 27, 2017 and City Council on December 6, 2016.
