Consider approval of a resolution adopting a revised City of Denton Handbook for Boards, Commissions, and Council Committees; and declaring an effective date.
On November 17, 2009 Council approved a resolution establishing the Handbook for Boards, Commissions and Council Committees. The purpose of the Handbook is to consolidate basic information regarding boards, commissions, and council committees into one easy and convenient manual that will be provided to current appointees and used as a training tool for future appointees. Revisions to the Handbook were approved on September 10, 2013 as the result of several changes/additions to the Handbook.
The following revisions are requested to be approved by Council:
· Add the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone Number Two
· Add the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone Number Three
· Amend the Economic Development Partnership Board Ex-Officio members
· Add a section regarding the Council Ad Hoc Committees
Staff recommends approval of the resolution adopting the revised Handbook. Once approved, the handbooks will be printed and supplied to Council and all board, commission and committee members.
